Beijing is the capital of China, one of the largest cities in the world, and the ultimate destination in the book City Spies Forbidden City. The title comes from  the palace complex in the heart of the city that was home to Chinese emperors for centuries. 

Unfortunately, I've never been to Beijing. I wrote Forbidden City during the Covid quarantine and couldn't travel, so I had to do a lot of research from home. I made this travel video to show you what it's like. It features some of the landmarks from the book including the Forbidden City and the Great Wall.
